Junjie received MEDx Basic Research Grant

Drs. Junjie Yao and Adela Rambi Cardones (Duke Dermotology) recently received a MEDx grant to develop a handheld photoacoustic probe that can provide high-resolution (5 µm to 50 µm) vasculature imaging in the skin at depths up to 5 mm. The overall objective of this project is to develop the first prototype with a small footprint for future translation to human patients. If successful, the proposed imaging technology will provide the dermatologists with a powerful new tool that can facilitate the diagnosis and treatment evaluation of a wide spectrum of diseases. Cheers!
